Research
My research focuses on the mechanisms underlying early disease detection and disease progression using stable isotope technology and metabolomics. By integrating these complementary approaches, my work has identified metabolic biomarkers that reveal early physiological responses to infection and metabolic dysfunction, enabling pre-symptomatic disease detection. This research has led to patented breath-analysis technologies that measure stable carbon isotope signatures in breath to detect disease-related metabolic changes in under one minute and is being translated into applications for animal and human health.
