Research
Kurt Amann earned his PhD and served for 24 years as a faculty member at UW-Madison. His research interests focused on the biochemical properties of the proteins that control cell shape, motility, and division. He taught more than 8,700 students, both in the laboratory and in the classroom, in cell biology and over two dozen other courses.
Dr. Amann currently works as a firefighter and advanced emergency medical technician. His extracurricular pursuits include wilderness adventures, woodworking, aviation, and continuing to work on his Eagle Scout.
