Research in my laboratory focuses on evolutionary mechanisms that enable rapid adaptation to environmental change, including biological invasions, climate change, and pollution. My research program integrates evolutionary genetics/genomics and physiology in an ecological context in order to gain core insights into mechanisms that enable expansions of populations into novel niches. Current research focuses on the role that genome architecture (e.g. genomic rearrangements, chromosomal fusions) plays in mechanisms of polygenic adaptation, using copepods and algae as model systems.
