The Wang Lab studies how the brain controls behavior, with a current focus on understanding the molecular and neural mechanisms that regulate sleep. Using the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans, we combine classic genetics, in vivo live imaging, optogenetics, genome editing, and next-generation sequencing to understand brain function at multiple levels. In parallel, we develop innovative genetic tools for precise transgene control, targeted manipulation of gene activity, and efficient endogenous gene tagging, facilitating new discoveries in our lab and beyond.
